To celebrate the World Radio Day, Radio Madhuban Community Society organized an inter-school painting competition for school students on 13th February’14. Over 300 students from 12 schools in Abu Road enthusiastically participated in the competition. The participants were divided into two groups A and B. Group A comprised of students from classes 5th to 8th and Group B comprised of students from classes 9th to 12th.
The idea behind the competition was to spread awareness about Radio Madhuban in the local community and engage local people in the activities of Radio Madhuban Community Society. Students were extremely happy to participate in the painting competition and really loved the topics. A small exhibition was organized to display selected paintings. Everyone appreciated the effort and students were informed about the initiatives of Radio Madhuban for the local community and about their involvement in such projects.
Prizes were given to best painting in both the categories. In Group A, Shifa Bagwan of St. Johns School won the 1st prize while the 2nd prize was bagged by Himanshu Bairwa of Sai Baba Public School. He had painted a scene depicting community people listening radio. The 3rd prize was awarded to Sahil Parmar of Adarsh Vidya Mandir, Gandhinagar.
In Group B, 1st prize went to Parul Morwal had made a painting on ‘Radio Madhuban changed my life’. The 2nd prize was shared by Vikram Malu of St. Thomas School and Manish Singh of St. Johns School. The 3rd prize was bagged by Princy Agrawal who had painted a beautiful scene on the topic “If i were a Radio jockey”.
All in all the competition was a success with the determination of Team Radio Madhuban and the kind support of all the participating schools. We look forward to conducting such competitions in future too.
